For a burlesque performer, feathers are a must. I've been using Ostrich.com for over two years now and I just love the quality of the products they provide. I have purchased so many beautiful boas and feathers that the images below may not even include everything!

I have one lovely pair of red feather fans that I have used several dozen times, as well as several boas that I've sewn to dresses to create one-of-a-kind creations. I also collect boas for use in acts, and have a couple Ostrich feather plumes that work really well for hair ornament. I strongly prefer the texture of the ostrich boas over the turkey ruff boas, but when I've got to penny-pinch, the turkey ruff boas definitely do the job.

Remember, there's a distinct difference between boas that you might trim a dress with (in which you can skimp on the width) and boas that you dance with. My motto for boas that act as accessories to your costume is "the thicker, the better." I recommend the 400 gram Turkey Ruff Feather Boa or a 10-ply or higher Ostrich Boa. Anything skinnier is really best used for trimming your costume.
